What an experience it was to join the Moveit4Smiles team to climb two of the biggest and best mountains that Wales has to offer.

It really was a trip that had it all and two days that I will certainly never forget.

On day one we set our sights for Cnicht, also known as the Welsh Matterhorn! We saw some magnificent views on our travels and with a total ascent of 577m we were never short of Welsh landscape to take in.

Day two was not as sunny and bright as our first outing, but the views were just as spectacular. Tackling Tryfan would have been a lot trickier had it not been for our team spirit and desire to reach the summit together. The mountain is famous for the fact that you cannot get to the summit without using your hands so before long, our team was literally getting to grips with the mountain.

Getting down was just as (if not more!) difficult than getting up. The rain we encountered on our ascent made for a treacherous journey back to the bottom, but it was still no match for our fantastic squad of oral health campaigners.

Thank you so much to all who have shown their support for the Moveit4smiles initiative. Our efforts, activities and fundraising events just like this one is all about raising awareness of rising mouth cancer rates and the human papillomavirus, also known as HPV.

With your support, we can bring potentially life-saving information to people across the country about mouth cancer and HPV. Every donation will make a difference.

It’s not too late to show your support for our Snowdonia adventure and Moveit4smiles. Head to www.dentalhealth.org/appeal/snowdonia2019 to donate.

If you would like to join us on our next adventure, which will be in the Isle of Skye at Bla Bheinn in May 2020, click here to register your interest and we will keep you posted with more information closer to the event.
