We’re delighted to announce that Mouth Cancer Action Month, our charity campaign to raise awareness of mouth cancer, is set to return this November. As long-time campaigners of mouth cancer awareness, we’ll be looking to improve knowledge about the disease in a bid to improve early detection and diagnosis rates – which is so instrumental when it comes to saving lives.

Despite Mouth Cancer Action Month still being a few months away, our year-round work to improve awareness continues. Over the last month we have continued to strike partnerships with two excellent charities who do tremendous work – The Swallows Head and Neck Cancer Group and Boundaries for Life.

Inside this issue we report on just some of the things we have done with these two teams over the last few weeks. We also have articles on the importance of regular dental check-ups, comment on the latest NHS dental statistics and what it tells us about the current state of access to NHS dentistry, while we also report on new research into hidden tooth infections and cardiovascular disease.

Thank you for your continued support and I hope to enjoy the rest of this month’s Word of Mouth.
