Earlier this month, we launched a new set of new guidelines for the correct care of full dentures.

These guidelines have been made following a review into the current advice about cleaning and maintaining dentures. Our report showed severe inconsistencies and conflicting advice about how to look after dentures.

This confusion has led to poor denture cleanliness amongst many denture wearers. These new guidelines can be standardised across the world and reduce the health issues associated with poor denture cleanliness.

Also in September’s edition, you will be able to read about how a team of health campaigners, including myself, tackled the dreaded Striding Edge challenge - a trek up and across one of the highest mountains in the UK.

You will also be able to learn more about the different options you have when it comes to paying for dental treatment, how to build a healthy lunchbox for your children and the facts about tooth whitening.

Finally, we also sit down with Oral Health Foundation Chief Executive, Dr Nigel Carter OBE, to talk more about the new denture guidelines and gain some more insight into why they were needed.

Please enjoy this edition of Word of Mouth and once again, thank you for your ongoing support.
