I would like to start this edition by wishing you a very happy new year and thank you once again for your overwhelming support over the last twelve months. We are looking forward to working with you in the year ahead, championing and promoting the benefits of good oral health.

In 2019’s first issue, we discuss the new NHS Long-Term plan. It aims to ensure our beloved health service is future proof. We focus on the oral health side of the plan and what impact we can expect it to have.

With so many of us looking to make a positive change in the new year, this month’s digital magazine has plenty of information and advice to help us make sure our health in 2019 is better than ever before.

Dry January is in full effect! Our team have put together a guide on the effect alcohol can have on our teeth and why giving up alcohol, might just be the best decision we’ve made all year!

We also touch on some interesting research about Brits who are stubbing out their cigarettes for good and statistics that show we are edging towards being a smoke-free nation.

Looking forward to what we hope 2019 will bring, we give our top predictions for oral health over the next twelve months. We also talk about what steps now need to be taken with regards to the HPV vaccine, due to be offered to the nation’s schoolboys this September.

Please enjoy this edition of Word of Mouth and thank you once again for your ongoing support!
