There are many myths about teeth and gums. Clearing up confusion helps people feel more confident about their routines.

Myth:

Brushing harder cleans better.

Fact:

Brushing too hard can damage enamel and gums. Gentle brushing works best.

Myth:

If my gums bleed, I should stop brushing.

Fact:

Bleeding gums are often a sign of plaque build-up. Gentle, thorough cleaning is needed.

Myth:

Baby teeth do not matter because they fall out.

Fact:

Baby teeth help with eating, speaking and guiding adult teeth.

Myth:

Rinsing with water after brushing is best.

Fact:

Spitting out and not rinsing helps fluoride protect teeth for longer.

Myth:

Sugar is the only problem for teeth.

Fact:

It is how often you have sugary food and drinks that increases risk.

Myth:

Losing teeth is part of ageing.

Fact:

With the right care, teeth can last a lifetime.
